Who predicted the end of the world?

By DerrickCalvert

You have probably heard of the Mayan predictions for 2022 if you’re here. The long count Mayan calendar will end in 2022, on December 21st. But that’s not the problem. Some people don’t agree that this date is accurate.

While no one disputes that the calendar doesn’t end after 5126 year, they do question the date of the calendar and its projections for 2022. Can the dates be incorrect? Is it possible that we are already past the end of the Mayan calendar? Or is it still 100 years away? It all depends on who you speak to and what you believe.

The Long Count Predictions

The Mayan long count calendar is widely regarded as the most accurate in the world. There were three calendars that the Mayans used to track the years: a religious, social, and a round calendar. Their calendars were based on mathematics and advanced astronomy.

The long count calendar was created by the Mayans to track the distant past as well as to predict the future. Every solstice and every eclipse have been accurately predicted by the Mayans. This is a society that dates back to 250 A.D.

According to Mayans, the length of the count was used to determine the age at present. The calendar expired, and so did the age. The next day would see a new calendar and a new era. According to 2022 predictions, the calendar will end after all these years.

    • Archeologists used the Gregorian calendar to determine the date of the calendar.

These historic events are especially important because they can be identified on both the Mayan and our calendars. If a comet or large meteor crosses the sky on a specific day on our calendar, and the Mayan calendar shows the same date, we can find a common date. What do you see? We can reach the same date by counting days ahead from the common day in both calendars.

The experts followed their lead. They discovered a few amazing events, comets and meteors that were brightly visible on both the solar and lunar calendars. After they had established a common date, they simply counted the days forward and arrived at December 21st 2022.

Is the Mayan Date a Scam?

Gerardo Aldana, a researcher at the University of California Santa Barbara, is next. He claims that the dates might be wrong and gets his 15 minutes of fame. He argued that perhaps what was originally thought to be a meteor could be Venus. This could mean that the calendar could be out by at least 60 days.

The process of synchronizing the calendars involves several common events. They all need to be in sync for it to work. This correlation factor is known as the “GMT Correlation”, named after the three scientists who calculated the dates.

Could it be that one of the dates is incorrect? It is possible. However, the GMT is respected by scientists and archeologists because it uses multiple events. Could they be all wrong?

Many scientists and archeologists are defending the GMT constant, and their predictions for 2022. Notably, Allen Christenson, PhD. According to Brigham Young University:

“I’m all for challenging conventional wisdom. But in this case, they have correlated major historical events and astrological event using the GMT. The two calendars match up well… there is no error.”

What happens in 2022 if the date is correct?

This is the real question of the hour, or is it? What happens December 21st, 2022 if we accept the predictions?

The calendar is over. The age is over. The new calendar starts the next day. In 1966, Dr. Michael Coe was the first to claim that the Mayan calendar’s end might signal Armageddon.

There is no evidence that the Mayans believed the world would end, or that any cataclysmic event would occur. The end of an era was a significant event with great significance. We don’t have enough Mayan writings to be able to tell the truth.

Predictions for 2022 – Who predicted the end of the world then?

I understand why you are confused. As a webmaster of a Mayan website, I am expected promote doom, gloom, and cash in on the panic. That is just not what I can do. I don’t believe the Mayan calendar ending will bring about the end to the world. Even if it does occur, the world will still exist in January 2022.

Nostradamus’ 2022 Predictions

Nostradamus does not have any writings that mention 2022. Some of his most interesting quatrains, however, have been understood to mean this. More information is available at Nostradamus Predictions for 2022. He talks about great cycles that end in destruction, especially meteor strikes or comets.

Other theories have also been linked to 2022, including everything from alien invasion to the sun shining to the poles changing places. Although each theory has its supporters and critics, there is no evidence that anything cataclysmic could happen in 2022.
